PAige ripley
Paige Ripley is a contemporary artist working primarily in charcoal on handmade paper. Her practice is rooted in a close observation of the sea and the rhythms that shape coastal landscapes. Waves, tides, and shifting horizons become both subject and structure within her work.

Using a restrained monochrome palette, Ripley explores movement, repetition, and erosion. The tactile surface of handmade paper plays an integral role, allowing marks to sink, blur, and gather in ways that echo the physical behaviour of water itself. Her drawings balance control and chance, capturing moments that feel both fleeting and quietly monumental.
Ripley’s work invites slow looking. Rather than depicting the sea as spectacle, she focuses on its subtler states, creating meditative pieces that speak to memory, place, and the emotional pull of the coastline.

Paige Ripley’s practice extends beyond the studio into public, site-specific and collaborative projects. She is the artist behind the iconic mural work at Sea Lanes Brighton, where her wave-inspired imagery forms a permanent part of the venue’s visual identity. The commission reflects her deep connection to coastal environments and her ability to translate the movement and energy of the sea into large-scale, immersive work.
Alongside her coastal work, Ripley has developed a series of detailed motorcycle drawings, exploring themes of engineering, identity, and freedom through a fine art lens. Her work has been featured in the legendary Easy Rider magazine, placing her practice within a lineage of artists and image-makers connected to motorcycle culture and its enduring visual mythology.
Her work continues to span drawing, print, and mural formats, with affiliations rooted in independent cultural spaces and coastal communities, and a growing presence within both contemporary art and lifestyle contexts.
