MAY OPEN HOUSES
ARUNDEL MEWS COMES ALIVE AGAIN THIS YEAR
Red Roaster will be open with coffee, tastings and refreshments, BIP-Art Printmakers bring hands-on workshops into the space, and Kate Jenkins returns with her brilliantly playful crocheted work.
We’re also debuting Sam Lock and Will Nash in the gallery this year.
More to see, more to experience, and a good reason to stay a little longer.
EARTH MATTERS
A quiet conversation between material, memory and form.
Works that return to the ground, both literally and metaphorically. Pigment, texture and process are not just part of the outcome, they are the subject itself.
At its centre, Michael Rainsford draws directly from the landscape. Using earth-derived pigments, his works carry a physical connection to place. They feel unearthed rather than made.
Will Nash introduces a sculptural counterpoint. Structure, weight, and a quiet sense of architecture.
The space will be shaped in collaboration with Hugo & Green. Planting sits among the works, creating a living layer that shifts over time. The exhibition settles into it.
Lineage, material, time. Not explained, but felt. A continuity running through the work. A passing on of knowledge, of touch, of understanding.
Nothing is forced. Everything settles.
This is not about spectacle. It is about connection.
WINE TASTING & ART PAIRING
Join us for an intimate evening of art and wine at Framed & Fermented.
Founded by Brighton-based curator Thomas Rainsford, Framed & Fermented explores how artwork can be experienced beyond the traditional gallery setting. By bringing together original works, considered presentation and informal hospitality, the gallery invites people to slow down, look closely and enjoy conversation.
For this special event, six selected wines will be paired with six artworks. The evening will unfold as a shared journey through the space. Thomas will introduce each work, followed by Henry from Butlers Wine Cellar, who will share the thinking behind each pairing.
The atmosphere will be relaxed and sociable, with light nibbles provided.
Tickets are £30 and places are limited.

THE FIRST POUR
Framed & Fermented burst onto Brighton’s cultural scene with a packed soft launch: Rathfinny sparkling in hand, guests explored curated artworks to the soundtrack of Mark Bassey’s Jazz band. A bold debut that proved art and wine can share the same stage with style.
