EARTH MATTERS

Earth Matters is an immersive exhibition exploring material, memory and our emotional connection to the natural world.

Bringing together works by Michael Rainsford and Will Nash, the exhibition considers landscape not simply as image, but as process, surface and physical presence. Pigment, texture and form become subjects in themselves.

At its centre, Michael Rainsford draws directly from the land. Using earth-derived pigments and raw material processes, his paintings carry a physical connection to place. The works feel uncovered rather than constructed: quiet studies in rhythm, erosion and time.

Will Nash introduces a sculptural counterpoint. Weight, balance and structure emerge through forms that feel both architectural and deeply elemental.

The space itself is shaped in collaboration with Hugo & Green, whose botanical installations create a living layer throughout the exhibition. Planting settles amongst the works, shifting subtly over time and reinforcing the exhibition’s relationship with seasonality, growth and atmosphere.

Textile work from Christopher Farr further extend the dialogue between surface, material and landscape, adding another layer of tactile and visual rhythm to the environment.

Rather than functioning as a static exhibition, Earth Matters unfolds over time through a series of curated events, wine pairings, conversations and immersive evenings hosted throughout the run.

This is not an exhibition about spectacle. It is about attention. Material understood slowly. Connection felt rather than explained.
