Created using reclaimed and leftover materials from larger commissions, the work reflects Baines’ sustainable approach to making. Offcuts and overlooked materials are reimagined through careful craftsmanship, transforming surplus into something both functional and enduring.
The carefully arranged willow rods create a rhythmic, almost woven appearance against the solidity of the ash frame, while the distinctive three-legged form gives Clout Chair a sculptural balance that feels both playful and grounded. Copper detailing subtly references traditional joinery and hand-built furniture making, positioning the work somewhere between contemporary design and functional sculpture.
