SAM LOCK

Sam Lock’s practice is rooted in process, where repeated marks and layered gestures build a surface over time. His paintings often evolve through accumulation and adjustment, allowing structure, rhythm and colour to emerge gradually rather than being fixed from the outset.

The works presented here feel more pared back and considered. The process is still present, but held with greater restraint. Marks are placed more deliberately, with colour and gesture kept in balance, allowing each piece to settle into a quieter, more resolved state.
