About the work
These sculptural works begin as screen prints on paper before being hand finished and carefully wet-shaped into tulip-like forms. Folding drawing into object, Laura Waldusky pushes the surface of the print into something physical and quietly architectural.
Built through repeated printed lines and subtle hand embellishment, each piece holds a sense of rhythm and movement while remaining delicate and restrained. The shaping process introduces tension between control and chance, allowing the paper to soften, curve and settle into its final form naturally.
Part drawing, part sculpture, the works sit somewhere between botanical form and constructed object. What first appears minimal gradually reveals layers of colour, shadow and texture as the light shifts across the surface.
Wine pairing
Rathfinny Rosé (2019 Vintage)
There’s a shared sense of rhythm. The repeated lines in the work build a steady visual movement, echoed in the fine, continuous bubbles of the rosé.
The colour sits closely too. Soft pinks and warm tones reflect the fruit within the wine, creating a natural visual connection.
Both are built through layering and small variations, where the experience unfolds gradually rather than all at once.
