ABIGAIL BOWEN
Bowen’s work is rooted in atmosphere, where colour and light are used to build paintings that feel sensed rather than described. Surfaces are worked slowly, allowing layers to settle and shift, so the image emerges gradually rather than being fixed from the outset.
There’s a sense of place within the work, but nothing defined. Forms appear and dissolve, holding a balance between landscape, memory and feeling. The paintings invite time, revealing themselves through looking rather than immediate impact.
